Elon Musk’s Tesla Roadster Can Now Be Tracked In Real-Time Using A Die-Hard Fan's Website

Image
It’s been hardly two weeks since Elon Musk’s SpaceX magnificently launched the first Falcon Heavy into orbit and also a red Tesla Roadster. Many of us are interested as to where it and its unconventional passenger are at the moment. Sending Tesla Roadster was a good decision and it was just a test flight. On board the car is a mannequin lovingly called “Starman.” Starman, who is outfitted in a SpaceX spacesuit, was apparently en route towards the orbit of Mars and then due to over thrust now towards the asteroid belt, to the song of David Bowie’s music. Musk has admitted that Starman’s route after launch had gone a little off from its planned path. And now it turns out, it might not have veered off that far as projected earlier. According to NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory , which unconfined data as to the Roadster’s location. Now you can easily find out the exact location of the Roadster and Starman using NASA’s data, which engineer Ben Pearson has brilliantly put into a website cal...

Astronomers Have Revealed The Biggest Meteor Shower Ever Recorded In The Solar System

Image
On our planet, we’re quite in luck if we see a few hundred meteors an hour during a meteor shower. But if you were on Mars about three years ago, nevertheless, you would have witnessed something extraordinary – 108,000 meteors per hour, the biggest meteor shower ever in recorded history on any planet. This meteor shower was a result of Comet C/2013 A1 (Siding Spring) zipping past the planet on October 19, 2014. We were lucky to have a spacecraft in circling the planet back then, and what they observed was unbelievable.  Observations from the event were offered few days ago at the European Planetary Science Congress (EPSC) 2017 in Riga, Latvia. Dr Beatriz Sanchez-Cano from the University of Leicester, who co-presented the findings, said “This is one of the most exciting planetary events that we’ll see in our lifetime. Mars was literally engulfed by the coma, the comet’s outer atmosphere, for several hours.” Siding Spring flew past Mars at a distance of 140,000 kilometers (87,000 mi...

NASA's Curiosity Has Just Discovered Something That Raises More Questions About Life on Mars

Image
NASA’s Curiosity rover made a new discovery that raises more questions about the possibility of life on Mars. The conspiracy theorists and many other fantastic people of the human population who believe that extraterrestrial life, and life on Mars exists/existed have been gaining significant evidence on their side. Direct evidence of liquid water has already been found on the surface of this planet, but so far not any microbes yet despite the fact that life on Mars, in theory, has been dead for billions of years.  Image: NASA/JPL-CALTECH However, NASA’s Curiosity Rover has found new, compelling evidence that advocates the case of life on Mars very strongly. A 3.8 billion year old Gale crater located on Mars, boron has been found. The reason as to why such a discovery is so significant is because boron is an element that can catalyze the formation of RNA (ribonucleic acid that is responsible to carrying the instructions from DNA to proteins) when dissolved in water. Also, the boron...

NASA Wants To Pay You A Six-Figure Salary To Protect The Earth From Aliens

Image
It seems like a perfect job, right? Kind of a superhero-y, defending the planet from bad aliens, perhaps with a splendid outfit, maybe a supergalactic weapon of some sort? Not really, but NASA truly is looking to fill the spot of “Planetary Protection Officer” (PPO), and you can fill and submit your application here . The position is essentially pretty high ranking and the pay’s really not bad, with the salary promised up to $187,000. But then, if you are tasked with a mission to protect the Earth from alien contamination on Earth, we shouldn’t really be scrimping.   OK, you probably don't get the outfit. Lia Koltyrina/Shutterstock The position was made after the agreement of the  Outer Space Treaty  in 1967. It requires making sure humans, in the throes of space exploration, don’t contaminate any planets, moons, or other objects existing with in space, and – just as essentially – avoid any unwelcome extraterrestrial microbes from returning to Earth. The Treaty ...

What's Inside The 'Pit Of Mars'? A Bizarre New Discovery On Martian Surface

Image
A strange looking pit in Mars’ southern hemisphere has been discovered and it has left scientists baffled as to how it formed. It resembles the home of a fictional Star Wars monster that could swallow a person whole. This strange looking pit may have been formed from an impact with a rogue space rock – or, it could be something else entirely. A spectacular new photo taken by the HiRISE instrument on NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter has exposed a view at the bizarre circular formation and the adjacent ‘Swiss cheese terrain’ on the red planet. A strange looking pit in Mars’ southern hemisphere has been discovered and it has left scientists baffled as to how it formed NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter captured this amazing image on March 25, during the late phases of summer in Mars’ southern hemisphere, scientists say. Right now on Mars, the sun stays low in the sky, better exposing the delicate texture of the Martian surface. Alfred McEwen, of the University of Arizona’s Lunar & ...
